Jack-in-the-Pulpit

I love when the Jack-in-the-Pulpit (Arisaema triphyllum) emerges in the spring. This wool sculpture was needle-felted of Maori wool, carefully blending fibers of different shades to obtain a realistic appearance. A magical place for fairies to visit. Base is needle-felted to mimic the forest floor with a variety of fibers and French knots mimicking moss. Many intricate details. An art piece. Mounted on a wooden base. Signed by artist.
