The fly agaric (Amanita muscaria) is colorful mushroom with white scales. Bright colors are often warning signs in nature and the bright colors of the fly agaric are no exception as they are poisonous for humans to eat. Needle-felted of Maori wool in reds, golds, whites, browns and greys. Gills on the underside were carefully needle felted of tiny strands of roving. Two emerging ferns and needle felted moss and fibers replicate a patch of the forest floor. Attached to a wooden base. Art piece. Signed by artist. Fairies sold separately.
