Inspired by fiber artist, Salley Mavor, I created my first fairy in 2006. Twenty years later, I still love creating them! Art calms my mind and in that peace, the magic happens. As an artist, I am drawn to the soft hues of nature and a variety of textures. A beautiful and unique piece of fabric may make my heart beat a little faster. Whimsical illustrations and vintage treasures tug at my heartstrings. My greatest joy comes when I work simply in the direction that feels right. It never ceases to amaze me when a fairy springs to "life", complete with its own personality, as soon as I add its acorn cap or crown.
A week ago, I had an unfortunate fall that required emergency ankle surgery. Sadly, it led to the disappointing cancellation of the Valentine Fairy Party we were so looking forward to hosting on February 14th. At the party, I had hoped to share a delightful children's book "The Love Letter" written by Anika Aldamuy Denise and illustrated by Lucy Ruth Cumminsat. Instead, I have used its cover to introduce a new online offering, one-of-a-kind fairies that are ready to ship.
