As we welcome fall to Northern Michigan, change is everywhere. Days are noticeably shorter, the colors of the leaves more vibrant, and crisp fresh air has returned. New England asters, grapes, apples, squash and pumpkins (including the glass ones at Three Pines) have arrived. Green leaves are shifting to golds and reds. Feathered friends and Monarchs are planning their journeys south. Thunderstorms have allowed fairy rings and mushrooms to flourish. Today, on State Road, we slowed for a young fox who seemed distracted by the beautiful trees and a band of sunshine streaming through the trees and warming the road. The sky and Lake Michigan can change from bright blue to steel grey in a matter of minutes, only to change back again equally fast. Colors from walks along the shores of Lake Michigan inspired October's Fairy of the Month.

It is a wonderful time to plan a visit Three Pines Studio in Cross Village! Special edition Halloween fairies have been making their way to Three Pines Studio to play among the glass pumpkins. Please call for availability. For those planning the drive, please remember to also keep an eye out for our forest and fairy friends who are busily making preparations for winter. Holiday offerings will be arriving soon!
Wishing you a magical October!
